My master cyl. is not in the best condition and I'm going to replace it. WHo knows internal volume and piston diameter? And who knows diameter I want to modify brakes, to replace hydravlic lines, to increase bracke disk size to improove its ventilation, but first I need to have all the parameters of bracke system. I want to analyse its parameters before.
Pablo, I sure would be careful making changes in the braking system. You might be better off taking an entire brake system off a compatible vehicle rather than just piecing one together. Otherwise, with an oversize master cylinder, you might stop well the first time and then learn that you ruptured a wheel cylinder or a brake line, and can't stop again. I don't care how many systems fail, as long as the brakes are last to go.

Dave, the year just started. However, I feel what you just wrote, is the best advise that will be posted for our Aerostar vans all year! I could not agree more. In fact, I've been laughed at when replacing front disc pads, or rear brake shoes with 35%-40% usefull lining remaining. However, even when I was a teenager in the 70s, when I owned "fast" American musclecars, I liked the look of a disc brake pad, with THICKNESS, or a rear brake with THICK brake lining on the shoe. Same with my Aerostar today. A normal, solid, brake pedal, that slows and stops an Aerostar quietly, with little effort, is what I like. Hence, I agree with your reply! Pablo, take Dave's good advise to the bank! Dave nailed this one! ED
My brakes seem to me to be "slowly". I tried to drive '97 aero, '03 Ranger. The same result. Tubes are too thin. I want to increase its diameter, but it's silly to wait for result with original cylinder. I want to install cyl. for thick tubes, but brake booster is desighned for original cyl. diameter, and I do not want to change brake pedal sensetivity. That's why I want to know master cyl. diameter (slave cyl diameter is known...).
