carb rebuild

i just rebuilt my carb tonight.... should i fill the bowl up before starting, or just pump like crazy? the truck is a 68 with a 360 2 barrel carb.

Rebuild

Is it a difficult job to do a rebuild. I am thinking of rebuilding mine.

Depends, if you still have the 2 barrel that's darn near as easy as they get.

Well, that's a good one to learn on then. Give it a try, just use patience and pay attention to detail. Force, pry, and chisel nothing.

it was my first carb rebuild ever... it was a snap. it's the stock 2 barrel. the rebuild kit was like 12 bucks. a couple cans of carb cleaner, a soft bristle tooth brush, some rags, and a bucket are all you need. there will be extra parts in the kit because it works on a bunch of different carbs. just match up the parts you take off your carb, and remember how things came off. when you get it back together you'll have to pump it a lot to get the fuel back in the carb, but crank it up and she fire right up. good luck....let us know how it goes.
