Ok my truck wanders at 50mph & higher. I have replaced steering box which was bad. I replaced my upper & lower ball joints with greasable ones, tie rod ends, steering control arm. Front end alignment done and re-checked. The front & Rear bushings have been checked, the steering box tightened. My truck still wanders and also at lower local street driving speeds I am constantly having to re-adjust steering for curves and bumps in road . the steering doesn't seem to return to center. I have to turn wheel and seems to over compensate when I do.
Also the steering pump was flushed and some residue was found. Does anyone think Steering pump may be bad. I have no squealing......Help
Not returning to center and wandering are signs you don't have enough caster.Do you have the #s from your alignment?I would think the mech. would have caught that though.Any lift on the truck? The over compensating sounds like something loose-either fr or rr.
Do a search for " excursion spring wrap". I tried to post a link to an article but I guess it has to be approved or something so maybe it will show up later. Spring wrap on X's is quite common and is probably the cause.
Sent you a PM with a link for you to check out since the forum won't let me post a link.
What M sent you was a link to LandYot's radius rod stuff, I'm guessing. And he is right. I have a 2005 EX that wandered from day one, until the RR installed. I already had put high-pressure Bilsteins and a heavy-duty Steering Stabilizer, and I already had Front AND rear swaybars.
The *single* most important mod for handling on an Ex is a set of Radius rods. (unless you run an airbag suspension)
This has been beat to death on many boards, and you can (should!) read it all before you buy...
...BTW I had to make a very quick run from my home in Laguna Hills (coastal Orange County California) out to Pearblossom (High desert) Friday. I drove a considerable amount of the distance just under the speed-limiter, on my GPS about 105 mph. (I have 34" tires that fools the 99mph speed sensor)
Below the Cajon Pass was an area with gusty 40 mph cross-winds, with big warning signs saying that 'High Profile" vehicles were NOT RECOMMENDED for travel. I never even noticed, no hands, no prob. Rock-solid the whole way.

Yes i have replaced my steering stabilizer. I read the article many times and thank you. My problems don't completely match Landyots explaination. I probably will someday buy them
