STEERING HEADACHE

1993 Ford bronco 5.0 ~ My truck has always had the sloppy steering and will wander allll over the road.. it feels very unsafe so over a one year period I replaced Radius arm bushings-Steering gearbox-All power steering hoses\lines and changed the power steering pump I'm thinking the rag joint is many bad I turned and shook the H*** out of it and it seems tight I'm not sure how else to check or fix this wandering issue it is getting very annoying what do I do, what have you done I know I'm not the only person with a wandering bronco haha.

Recently replaced my upper and lower ball joints due to being worn. Had it professionally aligned after, but front end still wanders. steering is precise, with no slop. No looseness in any rod-end, but just doesn't seem to want to drive straight. Asked my local ford front end specialist friend of mine and he said the ball joints could be too tight. I did notice the right knuckle was tight. Torque procedures on the knuckles in my manual was vague at best. I'm going to tear it down and re-tighten and see if it is the trick.

the ball joints, tie-rods, axle pivot bushings and tire width will all play a factor in how this front end behaves. what i dont see the OP mention is ball joints and tie-rods being replaced.

if you go with axle pivot bushings, they are a pain to replace so go with a poly bushing so you dont have to do it again.

what size tires are you running?

U know what... Sometimes my truck looks like it's sitting un-even over the axle I wonder if the axle pivot bushing are actually shot and allows a side to side movement... Keep posting what everyone thinks of those pictures of the bushings I'll read them all after work thanks everyone might finally fix this wandering issue before it kills me cus the truck is almost unstable

Seems like it's hovering over the right side of the axle more than the left I bet when I'm driving the axle slides left to right.

Looks like nothing is glaringly obvious so go ahead and get the front wheels off the ground and start grabbing stuff to see if you can find anything loose.
If not your toe in or camber could be completely jacked.
While your tires are off the ground spin each wheel and look at it from the side and the front while its spinning looking for abnormalities.

when you back into a parking spot the tires will walk outwards. if you can pull forward a few inches it will bring the tires back into their normal stance. can you also post some close up pics of your Tie-rods.

also check round your steering box for cracks in the frame. its not common but has occurred to a few people.

I went with a red-head steering box, new tie-rods and flipped them above the knuckle and my steering is considerably better.

Yeah I know about the reverse thing with the front tires I was saying to look how the truck body is favoring the right side of the axle more than the left it feels like the truck slides left to right when I'm driving. Will post pictures of tierods in a minute
