I'm listening to this song right now...but I can't help feel that it's wrong. I mean, it's a great song...but the GM ads almost ruined it for me. I seriously feel almost dirty listening to it right now...
So...do the Seger fans in here still listen to this song without any second thought? Vote.

Let's face it - its a really great song. Yeah - it became a commercial thing, but that wasn't the original intent. GM just got lucky is all... (AND forked over a ton of cash!!!)
Frankly I'd like to see a FORD ad with a ZZTOP track behind it.
Bob drives Ford & Jeep products, he's real. I've heard the song deal was worth $500k to Bob so who can blame him? And that campaign was WAY better than the one running now. "AN AMERICAN REVOLUTION"? Please. American Revoltion is more like it. Bob's music is timeless

That's a very good point that I overlooked at the time I made this thread (1:30AM)
...the song wasn't intended to become the slogan for GM in the '90's. Eevn so, I can't help but feel wierd listening to it. I'll still listen to it though, it is a great song, but with the nagging connection between it and GM, it may never be the same for me. I don't know, I'll just have to get over it. Seger is too good to be ignored, doesn't matter what song it is.
Bob Segar is waaaaaay better than chevy could ever hope to be, and his music hopefully will outlast those bowtie rustbuckets. i dont mind that they used the song, he made a buncha money from it.
