Im making a classic rock CD and am trying to remember all the good songs ive heard. SO far Ive got
-Renagade--Styx
-TNT--AC/DC
-Dirty Deeds--AC/DC
-Sweet Home Alabama--Lynard Skynard
-Needle and the Spoon--Lynard Skynard
-That Smell-Lynard Skynard
-Cocane--Eric Clapton
More on the way,m,ake any suggestions yall want. Anyways, I am trying to find out the name of this song, but I can only remember the first lines(if you can call them that). Its different, I think it goes na naaa na naaa na na naa na na or something like that, it did that a few times then the lyrics started. I know thats prob not much help, but I was at a bonfire with friends and partyin and I cant remember the rest, but we were all singing that part. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Self Esteem was done by The Offspring in 1994 if I remember right, off of Smash. I don't think that'd classify as classic rock though. It's not 'Centerfold' by the J. Giles Band, is it? I don't remember how that song starts, but I know that there was something like that in there somewhere....
I know thats how the song started, then there was lyrics. It was something to that tune, its really buggin me, I'm upgrading my sound stuff(Pioneer HU, Kicker 6x9s, RF 10"sub) and I hanna get some good tunes for the rest of this years partys. Ill do some searching around and maybe dig something up. Ill try the songs you guys suggested. Feel free to suggest any songs, got a whole CD to fill up!
I can't quite come up with the name, but may be able to stretch it out a bit... it starts out with the mentioned na na naa na, na naa na, na naa na, goodbye... then another part of the song is go ahead and kiss him, go ahead and kiss him good bye...
I'm thinking that your talking about the song that fellro mentioned. The only thing is though, this is more of a pop song then a classic rock song, but at the same time it fits the timeline a lot better. The guys from Offspring were barely out of diapers when this song came out.
Na Na Hey Hye (Kiss Him Goodbye) by Steam
Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye
He'll never love you, the way that I love you
'Cause if he did, no no, he wouldn't make you cry
He might be thrillin' baby but a-my love (my love, my love)
So dog-gone willin'
So kiss him (I wanna see you kiss him, wanna see you kiss him)
Go on and kiss him goodbye
Na na na na, hey hey-hey, goodbye
Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye
Listen to me now
He's never near you to comfort and cheer you
When all those sad tears are fallin' baby from your eyes
He might be thrillin' baby but a-my love (my love, my love)
So dog-gone willin'
So kiss him (I wanna see you kiss him. I wanna see you kiss him)
Go on and kiss him goodbye
Na-na na-na-na na na na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye
Hey hey-hey, goodbye
Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye
Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye
Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye [repeat many times and fade out]
A lot of people sing this at major sporting events in the final minutes when it's more then obvious their team is going to win. Usually in the playoffs when the losing team is going to spend the rest of the year watching at home.

Hush
Words & music by Joe South
Naa na na naa na na naa na na naa
Naa na na naa na na naa na na naa
I got a certain little girl, she's on my mind
No doubt about it, she looks so fine
She's the best girl that I ever had
Sometimes she's gonna make me feel so bad
Naa na na naa na na naa na na naa
Naa na na naa na na naa na na naa
Hush hush - I thought I heard her calling my name now
Hush hush - She broke my heart but I love her just the same now
Hush hush - I thought I heard her calling my name now
Hush hush - I need your love and I'm not to blame now
Love love - They got it early in the morning
Love love - They got it late in the evening
Love love - Well I want that needing
Love love - Oh I gotta get ahead of it
She's got a love like quicksand
Only took one touch of her hand
Blow my mind and I'm in so deep
That I can't eat and I can't sleep
Naa na na naa na na naa na na naa
Naa na na naa na na naa na na naa
Listen...
Hush hush - I thought I heard her calling my name now
Hush hush - She broke my heart but I love her just the same now
Hush hush - Thought I heard her calling my name now
Hush hush - I need that love and I'm not to blame now
Love love - They got it early in the morning
Love love - They got it late in the evening
Love love - Ooh I want that needing
Love love - Hey I gotta get ahead of it
Naa na na naa na na naa na na naa
Naa na na naa na na naa na na naa
Naa na na naa na na naa na na naa
