I was talking with a friend last night and stated eventualy I would like to drop a 302 in my 64. His car from high school and a parts car are for sale. Both are 1984 thunderbirds. Would the front end bolt up to a 1964 frame? He wants $500 for both cars, if it will bolt up I can kill a lot of birds with one purchase. I'll have 2 of everything.
Before you spend the money...check the specs on those 1980s 302s. They are dogs. You are better off buying donors from much older vehicles, or newer fuel injected models.

Of course, the poor performance could easily be remedied during a rebuild. If you're going to rebuild. If you just want to do a "plug and play", then you may want to skip these anemic years of 302. I dont remember what the 84's were putting out, but up until around 89-90, they were weak. A new, stock Honda Civic could give one of those a good butt whoopin'.
If I get them I was planning on a total rebuilt. I realy like a simple looking and running engine and would opt to do away with the fuel injection. My truck came with a 390 in the back, but I was thinking of something smaller like the 302.
