What engine came in this?
I just aquired a 1985 ford F250 3/4 ton pickup and would like to know what motors come in these from 1980-1986 in 4x2. I know its a V8, just curious because I havent picked it up yet.

Give the 8th digit of the vin # and someone should post what you have.

If its an 85 F250, the engine choices should be a 5.0-302, 5.8-351w, 7.5-460, or if its a v8 diesel, then it would be a 6.9-420 non-tubo diesel. Are you hoping for any particular one?

Correct, I didn't include the inline 6 because he had stated in the first post that he knew it was a v8. Thats why I didn't include it, but it is a great engine too.

Correct me if i am wrong but didnt the 335 series engines also avalible in thouse first few years???

I think they did offer a 351 M and a 400; at least according to my shop manual for my 81 F150.

83 was the last year for 351m/400's.

my bad...82...the mechanical linkage is 83. I put a 400 in my 83 F250 though.
