The pedistal on my '95 is leaking and the mechanic says Ford doesn't recommend rebuilding it(they'd rather sell new ones).Anyway, has anyone fixed the problem and would share the information how it was done.Have they redesigned the new ones to correct the problem?
If I must buy a new one, where would you suggest I get it?
I actually a few weeks just encountered the same problem. We had thought we could pull the pedestal off and put O-Rings in it. Then we found more problems with it and there is no rebuild kit avialable for it. So we did end up having to replace it.
There is a rebuild kit available now for the EBV actuator seal, part number 2C3Z-9P466-BA
I don't know what it costs or how big a pain it would be to install. When mine started leaking I replaced the pedestal with a non-EBV pedestal since mine was gutted anyways.
I got my pedastal from Northwest customs, the guy there was able to find one in Canada. I wound up getting it for $287 which was much better than $625 that ford wanted for a reman. I can get that number for you if you want it, I will back home tomorrow.
