i found a 1979 f-350 4x4 in my area and i need to know what it may be worth the cab is pretty ruff but interior, running gear, and motor are fairly good i will list what i know so you all can tell me more.
1979 f-350 ranger 4x4

air conditioning
flat bed
the man wants 800 for it and it runs pretty decent what would you suggest
i already own a 75 f-250 and i can't afford to keep both so help me decide the 250 is my first truck and i have spent a year and a half restoring it so it is hard to decide.
So, you ready to start another restoration? Do you really need a 1 ton truck? You know what you have in your '75, why get something that you'll have to find it's issues by chance, trial and error. Just my 2 cents.
My first thoughts were to try to jew him down a little more, buy it and then cabbage the Dana 70 and 60 to put under yours but, the 350 is a Lowboy and
your 250 is a highboy so the spring perches are probably different and would most likely be hard to switch out without a lot of trouble. But, a Dana 70 rear and a Dana 60 front would probably bring a good buck if sold alone though. Just something to think about. Maybe if there were enough other stuff on it that you could use would be justifiable too.
You can about get your yard to full of parts trucks though. I have just recently thinned my heard down a bit. I guess the choice is yours.
Around me you could sell the axles alone for over $800, even considering its actually a 44 in front. I bet somebody would pay a pretty penny for that flat bed too.

you might want to research that f-350 with a d44 up front , i have never seen an f-350 with anything other than a 60 in the front....it was the beginning of the dana 60 high pinion front end
welllllllllllllllllll duh it was . i am not sure what i was thinking. the lack of sleep is killing me. i forgot the first factory f350 4x4 was in 78 or 79, before that they were 2wd . 79 is also the first year the dually came with a factory box.
also, ford never made a factory dually pick up until the 1980 model year, and it was a 2 wheel drive to start, not a 4x4.not to be hard on you gashog, but in your own words, you should get some sleep .(just kidding)-billy
really? the 1979 f-series order catalog shows that the f-350 dually is now available with a "styleside" bed. before then all the duallys were sold as "incomplete" chassis cabs.
800 bucks for a 79 F-350 that is complete and runs? I say keep your old truck. Let me know where this 1 ton is so I can take it off that guys hands and you wont have to worry about it any more. Sounds like a decent deal to me. Why cant you have more than 1 truck? Heck Ive got 10 of them.
well the reason i can't have more then one truck is when i found this thing i was actually looking for a truck for my uncle to drive in the winter but if i bought this one i would give him mine or give him the other. i just can't afford a restoration on another truck. its hard to part with my truck after i have halfway brought it back from death. i may buy the truck and put it on ebay so that i can finish my restoration. i dont want to part it out because they seem to be really hard to find. if you all find any more info on these trucks let me know because i am having a hard time finding anything about them.
the dana 60 came in f350s period,no dana 44s,i have a original 79 f350,and d60 could have been in a f250 w/ a 4500 lb front axle option,i have 2 of these original.78-79 are the models im speaking of, not the early ones w/ the 44 big lock out models.
