Well, if you get the complete 91 - 94 Explorer, you'll get the better Dana 35 front axle, a better Ford 8.8 31-spline rear axle, and a more powerful engine.

You should get 1.5 - 2" of lift just by using the Ex rear springs. The reason, more than just the weight difference between an Ex and a B2, is that Explorers are spring under axle and the B2 has them mounted over it.

If you use the 8.8 rear axle, you will have to fab new spring perches (so they're on top of the axle instead of underneath) and lower shock mounts. Not too difficult, but you will need to do some welding.

If you swap the D35, it's a very simple bolt-in affair. You'll probably want new axle pivot bushings for sure. If you plan to lift it 2" or less, you can use the Ex front coil springs and just put a stack of properly sized (can't remember the diameter for sure) washers under the spring. Another option is to use the coil spacers from an 80s vintage TTB F150. I have seen spring spacers fairly inexpensive on eBay also.

For the 4.0 swap, you're going to need the complete wiring harness, computer, starter and throttle cable from the Ex. This swap is relatively easy if you label everything before you remove it, but probably not for the beginner.

Hope this helps!

The rear springs will get you 1.5 - 2" of lift without further mods(as was previously posted, go for an early 4 door Ex). The coils may lift it slightly, but not much at all. You're going to need to add a spacer of some sort if you want to do a cheap front lift. The spacer isn't a big deal and is pretty easy to do.

The rear springs will probably be a pain to remove on both vehicles. Be prepared to do some sawzall or grinder work on the bolts. A torch is also helpful (be careful around the fuel tanks of course).

Also, keep in mind that anything over 2" of lift on a stock suspension will really mess with your alignment.

i know this sounds stupid but do you think like 5 or 6 washer from the local hardware store will suffice do you think it will be easier i just keep the front springs on the bronco II and just simply *** the washer or spacer as far as i know the front springs are in good condtion and i wouldnt want to go through alot of work to swap them for a 1/8 inches front lift gain the soul reason i really want to stick at about 2 and 1/2 is because any higher start to damage the drive shaft maybe not right away but the suspendtion going up and down cause the extra stress and as far as i know drive shafts arent in my budget right now lol i need to be cheap about this cuase the new tires i need arent

Yes, regular old washers will work, but you need to get the correct size.

Strange - I replied to your last post, but it never showed up. Wonder why that happened...? Maybe it's because I referenced another website, which is goofy if that's the case.

Anyway, yes, they are standard washers, but you need to get the correct size. I can pm you the website where you can get this (and lots more) info. Just let me know.
