i am looking to pay no more then 250 for a 2" lift for my bronco II can anyone tell me of any kit i can get with mostly compleat hardwere i dont car about the companay it dosent matter to me
2" suspension or body? Body lift will cost somewhere around $100, and you can get coil spacers on ebay, make sure you get the one's with the cams or whatever they're called. I don't remember how much they are, but you can search on there for bronco II lift or something around those lines.
This pretty much limits you to either a 2" body lift (www.jamesduff.com) or using junkyard parts (front springs from an Explorer might fit) and extra leafs in back.
the body lift seems cool but it is kinda dumb to me unless it used in conjuction with a suspendtion lift becuase the axle stay the same distance from the ground well then again you could put bigger tires on it rising it off the ground i guess it go's by what easiest and cheaper would getting old explorer springs and parts for a suspendtion lift be cheaper and less of a hassle to get to work then bying a body lift and installing that it seems a body lift would be hard as hell to acomplish do you know how the process is wih that?
Axle stays the same distance away from the ground with a suspension lift too...
The lift is there so you can put on bigger tires making the distance from the axle to ground less. But on the Bronco II's you can only go so big on a tire before warping your axles and putting some serious stress on the suspension.
wow lol i never though of that it dose stay the same all i want are slighty bigger tires nothing that would even really throw the speedo off to much so stress shouldnt be to much of an issue here what exactly dose a body kit NOT lift that a suspendtion dose the engine hoses and stuff dont aline as well i would imagane being that im sure the engine and tranny it self of attached to the chassis not the body
Body lift lift's what it says, the body. I almost did a body lift but it seemed like too much of a hassle. You have to extend the gas tank neck, and get brackets for the bumpers so they match up. I also don't like the look of the gap in between the frame and body. Ohh you also have to drop the radiator down so the fan on the engine doesn't break everything up when you go to turn it on lol.
I put a 3 inch body lift in mine. The only thing that was trouble was the fan shroud.Everything else had enough slack. The 4x4 shifter was sucked right to the floot though,so yuo may want to extend it.It took me an a buddy 12 hours to do.You need to pull the carpet and seats out.The body lift I bought(performance accesories) had new body bolts but no nuts(sold seperately.)You will want a body busching kit as well. The front bumper looks fine after the lift but there is a gap above the rear one.
so explorer spring and leafs raise the truck alone? i never knew the explorer was higher but if it works great thanks there a slavage yard not to far away from me ill look at over the summer thanks alot it dose seem this will be easier then a body lift are there any other mods needed to make it all work
so i guess it all fits hey oif th engine off one dose why not this i getting a 1987 integra for free and moding that and using it as a comutter whn i get a licence can ne one say ricer? lol the bronco is now a weekend driver and off roader unless i decide to sell the integra
I used a two inch body lift from JamesDuff.com. All I needed to do was use their steering shaft extender. The body lift was easy, repairing the rust damage I found in the frame mounts is what took the most time. The 4x4 shifter had to have its hole shaved a bit so it would not bind.
