As an automatic trans novice I'm gonna have to ask where I would hook the test gage up at, asl well as what kind of pressures I would be looking for. I'm just a truck mechanic so I deal very little with automatics, I know the basics but much more than that and I'm lost.
If I'm not mistaken the MLPS is on the side of the trans(where the linkage connects). I that is the case then each transmission has it's own MLPS. the only part I swapped betwen transmissions was the cooler lines.
Thanks again for all the help.

Reason: addition
I was thinking this could be a MLPS problem since it happened on both transmissions, but I don't know much about automatics...
I though about the MLPS but research showed that it just tells the PCM it is in reverse. It has a mechanical link to the valve body and if it has oil pressure and the spool valve is in the reverse position and it has no other mechanical problems it will go into reverse. The PCM dose not tell the transmission to go into reverse.
Not sure how the 93 F150 moves the shift lever but if it is a rod it may be bent, I know he said the adjustment was correct.
The VSS sensor would have no effect since it will go into reverse with the truck not moving.
