After 25 years of having a cracked windshield (one crack) I finally got a fix-it ticket from the Highway Patrol.
My question is in regards to the chrome around the windshield. Can the chrome be removed without destroying it? If so, how? I have never replaced a window in a vehicle before.
Since your glass is allready trashed, you can just kick your window out. Once the glass is out, the chrome should just pull out. (Unless it is dry and brittle from age, in which case, it will have to be replaced)
Are you kiddin me????? This is your advice??? SHEEESHHHH!!! Isnt there a special tool or something that you can use to remove the trim without damaging it ? I dont believe kicking out the windshield is a very good idea considering there is glass involved.
