heater control valve
Just got around to putting on a new heater control valve on the '78 f100 I've been working on.The previous(with his infinite wisdom)didn't have one installed.The question is what is the small plastic nipple for?It has the metal tube for the vac line just like my '76 but it also has a small white plastic nipple under that, that looks like it should have something connected.Or is this some sort of release for vac.?

The one on my 79 only has the vacuum port and the inlet and outlet water lines. There are little ported holes around the vacuum diaphram cover that let it breathe. Somebody bypassed mine so I suspect it is croaked. At least they left it under the hood so I know what it looks like.
