I use Radio Shacks version of velcro. Instead of hooks and loops, it uses what looks like mushroom heads, very hard to pull apart and the adhesive is 3-M, so it is very sticky also. Make sure you wipe the area clean with rubbing alcohol and let it dry a few minutes before you stick the velcro tape to the dash.
Industrial Velcro (Lowes/HD) or a window mount. The industrial velcro will hold anything, I use it on the dash of the boat to hold the GPS, and it with stood the ride home going 80mph for 50 miles.
I just got a Garmin 340, and it came with a hard disk with an adhesive back so you can mount the suction cup to it. You glue the disk to the top of the dash, then the suction mount to the disk. I'm sure Garmin sells this separately.
you could hot glue it. sorry, no holes for me. that just ruins the truck. if you cant return it to stock, or leave the unit in the truck, it shouldn't be done..

I agree, but this is my company truck and when I am done with it, it will go to the scrap yard so I'm not worried about putting a couple holes in the dash.
Try some 3M double sided trim adhesive tape. Prep your panel first by cleaning it thoroughly with alcohol. If you have any armor all or other greasy cleaning solution on it, nothing will stick.
I have a Magellan Gold & mount. Just couldn't force myself to drill into the dash, so I bought some pvc pipe & fittings that would fit in the cup holder. 1 1/2" I think?? Put a bit of lead in the bottom and glued/screwed it together. I shortened the cable from 6' down to about 2' and installed a lighter/acc. plug on the front of the console. There's already one in the back you can tap into. The lead weight helps it stay in the cup holder when I'm bouncing. And its easy to remove & take in the house or put in the console when not being used. I also found a thin piece of neoprene ( silencing material for a hunting bow ) and rapped the pvc to make it quieter. It works great! About $20 bucks for the parts. Good luck!
