Trans Cooler Plumbing

I have some left over 3/8" aluminum fuel line and was wondering if this would be OK to use to plumb my AOD to a trans cooler in front of the radiator. Has anyone done this?

Talking Plumbing the Transmission Cooler

Fuel line is fine and is designed to accept the flow of oil based materials such as fuel, oil and transmission fluid.

Some other thoughts on transmission cooling.

1. Evidently over cooling todays transmission fluids is not a concern. So, some say the cooler the better, especially if using synthetic ATF.
2. Use synthetic ATF, it really is a better product and your trnsmission will last a lot longer. The 300 to 400 degree temperatures inside your transmission will not affect synthetic ATF.
3. When plumbing a transmission cooler use steel cooler line the same size as OEM. The metal tubing also acts as a heat radiator thus reducing the coolant temperature.
4. Use the add on ATF cooler in addition to the standard side or bottom tank cooler on your radiator.
5. Plumb the new ATF cooler between the transmission and the radiator so in really cold weather the radiator can warm up the fluid before it is returned to the transmission. So says Chrysler Engineering. This one gets my vote.
6. Plumb the add on ATF cooler after the radiator cooler and before the ATF is returned to the transmission, because the cooler the fluid the better. So say the cooler manufacturers.

This is all I know.
