I have a 2003 f350 crew cab and my drivers side rear door doesnt open from the inside. It opens from the outside just fine, just not the inside. The door handle does not seem to catch whatever its supposed to catch to open it up. the handle moves and all, it just doesnt pull the trigger to open it. any advice?

It's probably one of the plastic rod ends one of the connecting rods. It has either broken or popped loose. You will have to remove the door panel to inspect it if you are going to try to fix it yourself. Take the inside light panel off from the bottom of the door panel. There is a screw under the lens that holds the door panel. Then remove the black cover around the lock and window switches by popping it upward. Unplug the switches and remove the screw under there. Next pop off the black triangle piece of plastic at the front of the window and the door panel should slide up and unlatch. Make sure you unplug the wire to the door light. Now you should be able to pull the thin plastic cover off that covers the inspection holes in the door. You will probably find a metal rod dangling down from the handle assy. There was a post on here the other day for replacing door lock actuators with pictures that may help you to see what it is supposed to look like.
I thought that same thing but the other door opens. ill double check, but im pretty sure something is messed up. thanks for help though guys. im impressed. this is my first ford. helpful people
Ok its cool, ya'll can go ahead and slap me with the dumb*** stick. IT was the child saftey locks. Ive just never had a truckw ith them before and had no idea where they were at. Thanks a lot guys! That was an easy, free fix. Have a good day.
Maybe I need the slap with the dumb stick. I missed one key word. "REAR". I guess I wasn't thinking about the child safety lock because I thought you had the problem on the driver door. Sorry! Glad it's fixed.
