Hello, I am a new member here. I have a 1990 Ford Aerostar 4 wheel drive I really enjoy. Trouble is, I have no heat. I've done nearly everything new, to no avail. I'm told there is a vacuum operated switch that might be the culprit, but I can't find a vacuum diagram for this machine. Also; there is a wiring harness which runs under the intake manifold that my son did not reconnect when he did the intake gaskets. It is a 3 wire harness I think, and I wonder if it has anything to do with the heater (or lack thereof). Everything else seems fine, just no heat.
Can someone help me plese?

Welcome
download the Ford Service cd from:
use truck cd, eariest on site is '93, may be close enough to '90 to help...will have vacuum diagram and detailed heater troubleshooting.
when and under what circumstances did heat disappear? what was done just prior to loss of heat?
detailed list of what has been done/replaced to cooling system?
flushed, new thermostat, new water pump, new radiator, new heater core, air bubble blockage purged per Ford instructions? cap off-run to hot-cap on half click-run another 10 minutes
When you say that you have done everything new, you did replace the thermo with an OEM type replacement?
Did you flush the cooling system? If so, the heater core could be full of crud. You might need to backflush the core.
Is the truck getting to operating temperature in reasonable amount of time?
When you switch from defrost, vent, floor, ect, does the air flow change (along with temperature?)
I would folow the heater hoses to the box on the passenger side of the van. There is a solinoid that turns off the coolant on some models when the A/C is on, that is known to out sometimes.
Also I would check the condition of the vacuum hoses. At that age they do tend to start to crack and leak.
As for the connector, I am not sure if that deals with the heater, but more than likely the EFI, I am surprised that it still runs with it disconected. I would try to see if you could find where it connects too.
EDIT: HAPPY NEW YEAR!
EDIT2: 96 beat me by a couple seconds

The vaccum swithc didn't show up until 93 or 94. I had a 91 and it didn't have the switch. Check for flow through the heater hoses/heater core. Put your hand on the hoses and see if they get hot.
