Looking to repalce the door and vent rubber and have been reading alot of old threads on these topics. I have read that Dennis Carpenter makes some of the best replacement rubbers for our trucks, but the other companies sell his parts. Is this true? If so it does not matter where I order from. I also read that some peoples door will not close properly after replacing the door rubbers. Is this because of the rubber or the door striker being worn or needing adjustment. Last question, I need the rubber for the door that seal around the front of the vent window. I have looked on several parts sites and can only find a vent window seal. Is this seal the one I am looking for or the seal inside the vent window frame? Sorry for the long post, still a newb!

p.s. If you have any advice or a better place to purchase parts from, let me know.
Why not just purchase from DC? Just curious...
I buy all my stuff from Carolina Classics. Same good quality, knowledgable and friendly service (Rick drives a Slick as his daily driver). He and DC swap parts back and forth, as CC makes some parts that DC does not. DC is fine in my book, I just prefer the more personal attention that Rick provides.
You are correct that there are re-sellers, but I don't know the advantage, other than maybe saving a little on shipping or supporting your local shop.
As far as the rubber goes, there was a recent post on this. The new rubber is of different material and is thicker to start out. You should just adjust the hinges and striker plate to assure a easy shut and leak free seal. After a while the rubber should compound and you can readjust the hinges/striker again. Not that big a deal really for the bang you get from new door seals.
Yes I have heard all kinds of stories about "Just as good" as DC or, "You can close your doors after you put these (brand X) seals on, DC ones are too thick.
Why waste your time, and money hit and miss with someone else that may be selling Carpenter seals, or may not They are the best. They take a few hot days in the sun to seat in. That's why they work.
You wouldn't bore your block out 40 thou and use 30 over pistons, so you didn't have to break it in

Beside buying the front vent seal portion; Additionally you can either purchase the rear seal for your vent windows or if you buy an new division bar from DC or LMC, they both provide them already attached; check with your supplier to ensure it already comes attach.
