help about predator?

Ok get my DS predator yesterday and when i go to do the power tune any level it say it may already have a tune so i looked at the computer and sure as the plastic was cut like something was there before so i called motorhaven they gave me DS # they said unplug your trailer brake if that dont work have ford reflash it. Ford said that wont work because its been changed by a chip and it wont read the computer right it may read it a ranger or crown vic. they said to change th computer out is the only way to fix it so now

WHAT SHOULD I DO GUYS SOMEONE NOT TELLING THE RIGHT STORY

I was under the impression that a Ford dealership had the authority to reflash any ECU regardless of what's on the memory banks. If they can't fix it who can???
I would seek a different dealer as well, anyone who would try and tell me that they can't work with that is too ignorant to trust.

You might have some luck calling Ford corporate, but with the New Years holiday upon us, you'll have to wait until Tuesday.

Well i tried two other stealerships and they gave me the some story the third one even tried to run it. They said no and charged me 75 bones! The DP-Tuner (the chip) I dont understand as i think they have a stock chip for 50$ do you just plug it in then run the tuner or?????

I had the same problem with my PSD after I purchased the predator and tried to program it. I took my truck to our local Ford dealership and they reflashed my computer to the newest stock program available cost me around $52. Now the predator works fine, I have had no problems. Dosen't make any since, why they can't do it, the only thing they told me to make sure it dosen't have any stacker chips installed.

You've got me confused now. And that's pretty hard to do. So, do you have a DP tuner chip in it now? Or was there one on it before and it's now removed? I can't clearly understand what you have from your posts. I know you're trying to make the Predator work, but if you already have a DP chip in there, you can't run the Predator with the DP chip. And personally, I'd rather have a DP chip than a Predator. (I have a Predator now, and the DP chip is pretty much next on my list of things to get -- and replace the Predator.)

My ? is about dp-tuner chip they have a stock setting could i buy that to put the truck back to stock because the dealers said they can't.

Ooohh. I don't know. Good question. I'd give Jody @ DP tuner a call tomorrow to find out. They're pretty easy folks to talk to over there.
