mustang II conversion?

has anyone done a mustang II conversion? i am either going to go with that, or nova or camero front clip. i want to get this truck on the ground by bypassing the dreaded i-beams. the disc brakes are just a bonus.

Nothing wrong with the Twin I-Beam if the components in good shape. The Mustang ll is a good choice for the older pre 65 trucks but I would never change the I-Beam for one. It`s not for the inexperinced nor is it quick and easy for what little handing you may gain. On my 56 it`s a very different story and well worth the effort.

I have to agree with Fomoko the I-beams are something I would keep. I seen some very nice 67-72 models slammed with Ibeams (dream Beams). You can add disc to them for practically nothing. The mustang suspension are nice to look at but they don't offer that much more handling considering the chunk of steel that your wanting to put on top of it.

i don't think i can get it low enough with the beams....i don't think i can set the frame on the ground with the beams under there. plus the bad camber adjustment.

I've done a 71 with an MII kit with tubular A-Arms, coil overs, and power rack and pinion. It's been on the road about 3 years now, very low and handles great. Also put the rear end housing on top of the springs and C-notched the rear frame rails for axle housing clearance. As previously mentioned, the conversion is not for the inexperienced but at the same time with careful measuring and fitting it's not that terribly difficult, either.

Sounds like you will need an air bag suspension, expensive but it should look sweet.
