Tried to get the baby inspected today..what a mess!! Seems they found a crack in the manifold of the stuppid engine I dont want to keep in there...(Sorry , I feel better)..anyway, looks like I am buying an exhaust manifold for a 240 with my Christmas Hotrod Fund!!! So, are the 240 and 300 manifolds interchangeable??? Does anyone have one sitting around that thery would donate?? (College student with wife and child) Please excuse the mercy plea... I didnt plan on spending money on this tired engine!!!!

If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be appreciated!!!!

search the inline six forum on this site. they should have the answer, but I think they are.

 

Find a good welding shop in town and ask if they can weld the crack. Also try a few local salvage yards. Rolla is fairly big I bet there a few salvage yards around.

 

If the crack is accessable it can be welded on the engine. If not, the manifold will have to be surfaced before reinstalling.

There have been many improvements in welding rods for cast iron in recent years.
