Recently bought a 1987 E-150 cargo van with the 4.9l and am having trouble figuring out which transmision I have. Door jam badge says trans code G, which I read was the C6. Yet the transmission pan looks more like what I've seen online for the AOD. The pan is about square with the corners slanted, and a notch in the back end.
Sorry, but I forgot to count the bolts while I was under there.
Need to know for an axle swap and build up, any help is appreciated. Thanks.
The AOD shifter would look like this: P R N OD D 1, there is no second gear position. I also don't think that they ever put the AOD behind anything but the 302 (5.0).
