Hey guys, Im over in the F-Series Forums but i had to come over here to ask all you Bronco guys a question. Im thinking of getting my windows tinted and im just going to get 20 on the driver/passenger windows.. but on the back i want it to be like that factory tint on the long side windows on the backseat of the broncos. It looks sorta like mirror tint but its not cheesy like the real mirror tint you see all over the place. Its classy and i was wondering if theres a name for it?
According to the original window sticker on my '93 XLT, yes I still have it, it is called "Privacy Glass".
wow! i'm guessing your the original owner then. Just out of curiosity how many people here are the original owners of their Bronco's? Personally, I wasn't 16 by 1996, not that I could have afforded a new vehicle when I was 16, or even now for that matter. I'm just thinking how much nicer it would be to know how long ago stuff was replaced. Right now I'm under the "when in doubt replace it" frame of mind, but that can get expensive.

Reason: grammer
I've never seen any aftermarket window tint that would really match the factory Bronco top. I agree with you though, the mirror tint from the stores is too much. IMO, it would look best to go with the same tint on the back window that you use on the doors. Good luck!
Nope but the second owner of it and new trucks were alot cheaper then mine was 25,500 out the door. Try that today w/o special deals that price was the list price on the sticker, granted my buddy just got a new chebby z71 for 26 and the sticker said 39.

I wouldnt worry bout that cause you'll be the one pulling him out anyway.
all i have to say about this matter is you might as well put the highest tint thats allowed in your state in the back of the truck if you want the privacy. i personly dont want people to be able to look in the back, so my tint is high. personal preference, but you dont need the mirror tint to be able to not see in. especially because the black tint goes with any color with out looking bed.
My mom's minivan has dark tint in the rear window and I hate it. You can't see out the back window when reversing at night. Just something else to consider.
Hey, how about some nice retro fabric cutains. Turn your Bronc. into a ******* waggon. LOL. just kiddin.
Very true...I've got 2 1/2 % tint on my back window and 5% tint along with the factory tint on the quarter windows. This does make it nearly impossible to see when backing up at night. I installed lights under the rear bumper that I can turn on when backing up and that makes it much easier. Or, as long as it isn't raining, put the back window down!
I just had my rear window tinted yesterday with 4%. I can see through it just enough at night that I don't think i'll be running into anything backing up as long as I'm paying attention. While I was there I asked the tint guy if he could match the factory side window tinting. He said he couldn't but he wished he could because he's been asked that question hundreds of times from other Bronco owners. He said he could get it close but you would be able to tell the difference. I have a buddy that works at the Norfolk Ford plant making F-150's. I'll ask him if he can find out any info on what they used on the Bronco and if there's any way to get ahold of the product.
