Is it a 302 or 351 ???

Can anyone look at the pictures below and tell me if the engine is a 302 or a 351. I was told alot of different things like the number of valve cover screw, the distance from the water pump bracket to the heads, etc.?

Also, is it a "camper special" ?

it looks like a 302 to me but a better shot, maybe overhead or straight on of the intake manifold would really help out.

The distance between the heads is one way to tell. Going from memory, I seem to recall the distance between the heads (where the manifold bolts on) is about 9" on the 302 and 11" on the 351W.

Looks pretty small between the valve covers, so I would have to go with the 302 also. Post up your VIN number from the door tag, we can pick a little more apart from that (if it's the original door of course...)

Did the guy say he had changed the engine? I'd still measure the distance between the heads.
