4r100 question

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone knows if a 2001 Expy with the 4R100 shallow pan (2wd) has a drain plug for the torque converter, and if not, how I go about getting all the fluid out. Thanksssss

Pull the plastic plug from under the converter and rotate the engine by hand while looking in the hole. Put a mark on the converter before you start so you know when you have gone 360*.
Most just change what is in the pan and the filter and if done regularly that is good enough. If that's not satisfactory you will have to pull the trans and remove the converter to drain it completely.

I took my '03 Nav. to the local oil change to have the trans fluid R&R. I used to work at this one so I know how they do it to get it all out of the trans and torque conv.

If you ask them if they do this through the trans cooling lines and they say yes, then they can do it and get it all out for you. I think it was about $80.00 to have it done.

Someone here also posted a method to do it yourself with a buddy using the trans cooling lines where they attach to the trans. Do a search and Im sure it wil come up.
