I posted a couple of days ago in a separate thread and added this question to the thread. Did not get a response, so I thought I would start a new thread. Hope that falls within the guidelines....
I took the truck to Autozone and they checked the stored codes for me. I am only showing a code 33 and they indicated that I should possibly clean the EGR Valve. What does everyone think. Have you had any luck cleaning the EGR Valve or should I replace?
Also I am obviously not a mechanic. If I change the EGR is this fairly simple to do or should I take it to someone who knows what they are doing?
Thank you. Forgive my ignorance how do I run the pinpoint test? I did not purchase the meter from Autozone....can I use this device to check the pinpoint tests?
Pinpoint tests are a series of tests that you run to determine the exact cause of the problem. Drop me an email and I can send you the information, please remind me about you truck/code.
