im looking for advice on whether to install the sonnax kit in my truck. i have a hypermax 90hp chip and guages of course and i dont know whether i should install the sonnax or not. i want to help the tranny out as much as possible with the extra power but my truck has 200,000 miles on the original tranny. if it is getting weak i dont know if the sonnax will push it over the edge or not. it seems to work fine now but i would like to make the shifts firmer and keep the temps down and there is a lot of support for the sonnax around here. the truck is a 2000 F-250 CC 4x4
thanks for the advice

so you guys are saying its worth the money no matter how many miles are on it? did it also keep the temps down because there is less slipping and was it hard to install?

The install is pretty easy, it will help keep temps down do to less slippage and for $50 u can't go wrong. If your tranny fails go with the Monster box rebuild
kit from DPS. Factorytech "Monster In A Box"
I am all for the sonnax, install it. There have been a couple of people that have installed and within a week or two, their tranny went south. Personally, I think it is more of a coinicedence as all the heavy rebuilt transmissions have some type of a shift kit in them to keep slippage to a minimal. Mine was having sproratic problems, took it to a shop, we couldn't get it to do the same thing I was talking about. So I decided to put a kit in it to see if it would prolong the life some. That was 8 months ago, and it hasn't done it original problem since I have installed the kit. Man if makes a huge difference in the amount of torque put to the ground with a kit.
I had about 145K on my tranny when I installed my sonnax/tricumlator kit. I experienced no problems with the tranny going bad. The performance is much improved, and I like it better than what my programmer (Predator) did for it.
