The chip wins

Just got my TS Performance 6 position chip installed and even though many here have said it, it is hard to believe the difference in power over the SCMT. I got it installed late so I only got to get her out for a few minutes, but it is unreal. I began w/ the 50 horse setting and was truly amazed. She was cold to begin with and ran a little rough but when the engine warmed up, it was on. The increase in boost is amazing. I did switch to the 75 horse setting for a few minutes just to get a feel. I LIKE. Can't wait to get some seat time in her so I can try the other settings, just to play. Will be hooking up to the 5'ver in a couple weekends and we'll see what the egt's do. Thanks to all who have recommended the chip. I was hesitant to go that route, but when I found the TS on e-bay at a price I couls afford, I jumped on it.

I havent even ran mine on the 100hp yet! Been cruising around on the 75, since I was told that is the best overall setting the rest are just fun. I didnt notice any drop in mpg with my foot into it a lot Now I am taking it a little easier and noticing about 2mpg better.

Glad you like it! I couldnt pass that deal up either!!!! Xmas shopping for myself...bad.bad.bad.

I was next to a cummins the other night and saw a decal on his window that said "I would rather be cummin, than strokin" Needless to say I put his a** in a cloud of black smoke and a dot in my rear view mirror.

cost for the chip?

Can you give me a ballpark figure for chip, and price on gauges if you have them, which you must with all the power you're getting. I have a 97 diesel and would like to do the same with my truck, even though power gain would be less with my year truck. Thanks Jeff

Haha Yeah it was fun! Street racing is stupid anymore but I HAD to try the new chip out

I got mine from ATS Diesel.... Ebay Item # 8022927616 Buy It Now price of $250 plus $10 s/h. If you go through TS you are looking at $350+ and same with Dp-tuner.com (Jody Tipton) even though he has some awesome tunes!! Scott is from ATS and make sure he has programs for your 97 before buying, which he should. Tell him Aaron sent you!

Gauges...just depends on which ones you want. You can try di-procol, autometer, Isspro. It is personal preference. You can get a 3 gauge pod from Lotek painted to match your interior for around $50. For boost, tranny and pyro, depending on what type of gauges, you are looking around $200+/-

I got mine from ATS also. with the discount code someone had posted here, I got it for $235 shipped. Expect $200-250 for gauges and pod.

PowerStrokeMe, have you pulled a load since installing the chip? If so how were your egt's? That is my only concern at this point. I am going to be pulling around 12,000 and in the hills of E. Tn / W. N.C.

Scott has 10 more TS Performance 6 position chips up on eBay ( 8022927616 ) now on a new auction. I got mine at the same price as jsmahan with the discount code. I'm waiting for Santa to bring my new guages before I plug it in.

No I havent pulled a load, but hopefully will sometime. With 4" exhaust and the truck running correctly, I wouldnt amagine the EGTs getting above 1000-1100*

I havent put gauges in yet...I know...burn me I dont stay on it long if I put my foot into it but I know I am taking a chance. $250 for gauges is better than $10k+ for a new powerstroke motor.

Hopefully Santa will bring those...but I doubt it. Anybody wanna play Santa this year?

just ordered chip

Just ordered chip on ebay for $250.00, no gauges yet but have a 4 inch exhaust, to help with egt's. How safe is it to run without gauges, if I don't get on it? Will be buying gauges when I find the right deal. Thanks, Jeff

Dam Im getting this guy all kinds of business! haha I have the same setup as you and intake also. Ive been running without gauges and I just dont keep my foot into it very long as it doesnt take much for the temps to rise quickly. Plus Ive only had it up to the 75hp setting.

Its safe in a way, but its ease of mind and make 100% sure everything is ok with gauges. Im trying to find the best deal also, yet something I want at the same time. If I didnt have more xmas shopping to do and one credit card pretty much maxed (only 800) I would be buying some RIGHT NOW.

Okay, my Jody Tipton chip came in today. With any luck, I'll have time to install it tomorrow or Sunday - after the new front tires, anyway.

I'm REALLY looking forward to this!!

drilled rotors

Know I no why my trucks brakes sqweek. They have done that since I've owned the truck. How much to drill rotors out, and who did it for you? The mod bug is attacking me. Also let me know if you find a deal on gauges, and I'll do the same for you. Thanks Jeff
