Hi, I have a 1976 F100 with a 390 and a C6 transmission. I'm having a problem with the tranny. When I first start the truck and put the truck in drive I have to sit there about 5 minutes before my truck will move forward ( reverse is fine ). What do I need to do to fix this? Thanks
it might jsut be the tranny is worn, and may need rebuilding or new fluid. my scout master had the same problem on his 79 F100 with a C4 and I think 302 or 351 motor.
I have had this problem before and it was the front pump in the tranny going bad. Not able to build enough pressure. It was fine most of the time but once in a while after sitting for a spell it would not shift. Rebuilt it.
