Replace I6 with 289?

Well, it seems to me that alot of people like the 300. Myself included. How long has the 289 been sitting and how was it stored. If it's been sitting for a while without the carb or spark plugs or and has had pressure kept on the valvetrain, you might want to check it out carefully. It wouldn't be alot of fun to go through the trouble of an engine swap to end up dropping a valve or spinning a bearing. Just my .02. Either way you go, do what you want with the truck, even if you want to use that Chevelle engine.
