I just got a new Faze 5" monster tach with shift light . It's sweet, but the wireing however is not. I understand the ground, positive and coil wire, but the dimmer switch wires and shift light wires, I have no idea. I hate wireing.
I cant wait to get it hooked up though. I also don't understand the " For dash lighting dimmers that control the positive side of the dimmer circuit", and "For dash lighting dimmers that control the grounded side of the lighting circuit". I really hope somebody can help me out here.
Thanks guys
Dustin
These trucks control the positive side of the dimmer circuit, tap into the wire off the light switch rheostat for the tach light. Not sure on the shift light wiring.
Do you have a test light? Ground the alligator clip end of the test light, turn on your parking lights, then poke around on your headlight switch connector until it lights up. Keep the test light there, then turn your dimmer switch up and down. If the test light gets dimmer and brighter when you do that, that's the wire you need to tap. And as Ford_Six said, it is a positive wire.
