What type trans. do I have?
Can anyone tell me how to tell what type transmission is in my 49 Ford F-3. It has a flathead 6 engine with a floor shifted transmission and I don't know weather it is a 3 or 4 speed.Thanks.

Hard to say by your description. Look at the case for any markings. That will tell what it is. THe 6 cyl, like the V8, had either the 3 speed floor shift or the 4 speed on the floor.
