i plan on doing the same to my 78 ranger inside but nobody in the province sells the heruliner or linex for do-it yourself. i'm in new brunswick canada so if anybody knows where to get some of this stuff it would be great. .............also how clean does the floor have to be in order to spray this stuff......... can you spray it over some rust or does it have to be perfectly clean

Just like when you are doing a paint job when you are doing herculiner the prep work you do determines how good the end job is. It's not hard just be patient and do a good job. A couple of things that I found when I did it was that in the herc kit they give you this Red pad to scrub the surface you are going to apply the herc to. I went to Home depot and found one like it for my electric drill. I used this and that part of the job went much easier and faster. I rolled the herc on some people have sprayed it on. I also got a paint stirer for my electric drill and while I was appling the herc I stirred it often, because the particles in the liner settle fast. I would definately used the herculined being that you are on a budget that 80 or 90 bucks that you save will buy something else for your project. Besides this way you get to say I did it my self.

Im going to build an All Purpose Truck as soon as I find a suitable frame. These are my intentions...Frame up rebuild, with the entire frame Linex'd, along with any bracket that mounts to the frame. The cab will be lined inside from the back window down, floor, firewall, and from the door windows down. The outside of the cab lined from the back window down, bottom of the floor pan, and the firewall, outside doors from the door handles down. I will build a step side box bed with fenders and it will get the same liner treatment. Plans are for a mild 4'' lift with about a 35'' mud tires all around. This truck will be a daily driver with the ability for occasional off roading. All the parts will come from a recently aquired 89' 134,000 mile EFI 300I6 5spd with 2 speed transfer case, dual front shock set up with a rotted frame.
Anyone have anymore suggestions?

If you have the money for it a dual transfer case set up would be a real plus.

Im looking for the same years. The frames are said to be identical from 80'-92' or 96' I believe. I currently own and drive daily a 84'2WD with a good frame and a rotted cab But Id like to find another good frame by itself and sell/trade the 84' for parts for the 89' build. Idealy Id like to get ahold of a 4WD rolling chassis for the build. I plan on keeping the EFI cause its already there and working fine.

The less the better and getting it herculined/line-x'ed whatever is the way to go. I did mine with the do-it-yourself stuff, and I wouldn't recomend it unless you are on a massive budget. Its not nearly as good as the actual high pressure stuff they apply.

Funny you mention cd player. I just ripped mine and the amp out. Couldn't hear it over the motor anyways and wanted to clean up the wiring so...
