Pull the negative battery cable and turn on your headlamps, cut them off after a minute, then walk around and reconnect the cable, you won't mess up the tuning, it stays in until you rehook the programmer and remove it. I've had mine for 9 years, no telling how many times the batteries been disconnected, but remember, when you take it in for service, if the reflash the ECM, the tune is gone and the tuner is trash, it's vinlocked to the time you uploaded.

Why would you want to remove and reinstall, there is no benefit unless you fear they'll reflash when taking it in, and if they did, the program won't go back in anyway, I always request no reflash.
