thats true, again im just leary of carbs, hehe. Jets floats bowls ect ect?!? AHHH. Efi, o2 sensor says im X amount lean (yes im definaltely using wideband lolz) at X rpm, increase the pulse width and bam, done hehe. Thats the only reason I like fuel injection. If i use nitrous, and the fuel side of the system fails to open, then my computer can sense that, and retard the hell out of timing or abruptly shut off all fuel and nitrous, saving my motor. Can you get a 4bbl intake( as in offenhauser dp) and a 4 BBL for 400$?
As for the single 4bbl outdoing trip webbers or something of the sorts, I beleive that under different conditions, each will have benifits, if youve got 1 cylinder that seems to wanna run lean (which you may never know about with either intake system) you can tune it up, but the 4bbl is gonna be hella easier to setup, because it evenly disperses the fuel to all cylinders, and to richen em, you get em all at once.

To reinforce col. flashmans post, not that it was required.

offenhauser "C" (more in tune with a killer inline build ) $170
offenhauser "DP" $190

edelbrock 600 cfm manual choke carb $234
edelbrock 600 cfm electrick choke (jegs special) $249
You can also pick up factory remanufacutered carbs from jegs/summit and save a few bucks. I think I paid $190-200 for the one I purchased but its been a while ago, surely the price went up somewhat.

finding a used carb is suprisingly easy and cost effective...so theres a potential savings as well.

I'd say $400 is doable.

You know a wide band O2 would really make tuning a carb easy as well.

If you use a WOT switch, the use of nitrous and a carb should be ok. I'm thinking if failure should occur be it efi or carb its gonna take something with it.

Don't get the wrong idea, I think your choosing efi is a good idea, I just haven't lost interest in the old carb yet.

Actually, the reverse is true. If you have one lean hole with a 4 barrel you have to make all the cylinders fed by that side of the carb richer to compensate. With an IR setup you can fix one cylinder without screwing up the rest of them. The only problem with IR is that you can screw it up really badly without much effort.

RAR so some cocky dousche in a jeep last night started talking mad crap about my truch at hooters. Hes got 35s (fairly worn buckshots) on his jeep, and ive got 31s (wrangler MTRs, 3/4 tread remaining), and hes like blah blah blah youll never hang with me, no matter what you do, because off roading is 10 % truck and 90% driver, and Im like so your saying im a bad driver and hes like yea, and im like, well given that ive NEVER been stuck, and ive been framed out twice now, i think im a hell of a driver and my friends that were there backed it up. Then he produced to talk smack on the 6 banger in my baby, and i pulled out a set of chains and asked if he wanted to hook up real quick, ill even let you pick where we do it at, and he said are you sure you wanna do that, and i asked him if he was sure. He gave me a weird look and I asked him what his jeeps peak TQ was, but before he answered I asked if it was anywhere near 300 ft lbs and if it happend anywhere near 2500 RPMS? SOOOO THEN he goes and starts talking about the deisel he wants, you know the big ole shebby, the one thats an aluminum block made by like suzuki or watever with iron sleaves, after i pointed that one out he shut up. But he stilllll wants to get my truch stuck, so I believe some mods are about due.
Gonna get a 4 inch lift kit (suspension, and maybe 6 to get rid of the factory blocks in the back) and maybe a 2 inch body lift, but I might just add that to the suspension. Then im going to go with some 35 X 12 at least, maybe 37s, and swap my gears to 4.1s or maybe even 4.56s or watever that number is. Finally the tranny will more than likely be swapped for watever the np### 4 speed is with that scary low granny gear. Then I might have to totally swap this motor around, and go with a torque MONSTER. RAR i cant wait to see his face next time I take my truck out there. No im not doing all this for 1 guys bad mouth, Ive been meaning give this "unstuckable" truch as everone calls it a face lift. hehe
