I also hate thieves, they are too worthless to buy their own equipment. If I catch someone trying to steal my stuff, Im gonna have some fun.

What's really horrible is I dont have a latch for my back window! The only benefit is when I lock my keys in the truck. Then people assume I'm breaking into it... Good thing I only have a 90 dollar CD player in my truck now.

dude that sucks in the worst way. you would think for aslong as sliding back glass has been out they would have thought of a better locking mechanism than that lil plastic clip. my cousin was ripped off 3 times while he was in college. he had a 94 ranger with sliding back glass.. after the 3rd time he bought a f150 ...with in a month dang room mate busted the lil glass on the extended cab part and stole the whole dang truck.. he did get the truck back after a week and had to fork out $1100 for repair of that lil window and the metal that surrounds it. and when he did find the guy and took reposetion of the truck... he got his in before calling the police

Sorry to hear that. Those lousy scumbags. Keep an eye out at yer local pawn shop and ebay sellers. Hope the insurance covers it for you.

P.S. Did you have an alarm on the truck? And if so, was it armed? Just curious.

A small c-clamp will prevent them from popping the latch, and is almost as easy to release from the inside as the plastic clip. Put 2 on for added security and promotes a better seal at the joints

Just saw your thread and I feel your pain. My truck was broken into last night and I posted a thread as well. I'm luckier than you though, my amp and sub can't be removed unless the rear seat is removed first and I think something/someone scared them off before they could dig around to much. Again, sorry to hear about your bad luck and hope that your Christmas is much brighter.

- almost forgot, it is extemely easy to pop the door lock as well, probably took 3 seconds on mine. Anybody at Ford taking notes on this? We all would appreciate it if you made it just a little bit more difficult for thieves to break in.

I had an alarm installed on my truck a few years back and I made sure that a sensor was placed at the rear sliding window. It gives me a little more piece of mind.

I feel your pain. I just had my brand new truck and my brothers Maxima stolen in the fist week on Novemeber. I am just getting the truck back and my brother will get his ride back next week. The ****ty part is that even though insurance covered for a rental, 20$ a day, I rented a Dodge 1500 Ram Hemi. They charged me $26 a day....Long story short, I returned the truck 3 weeks ago since they only cover 30 days.I paid $300 for the rental and that is with insurance covering it. Not to mention I pay $950 a month for the truck since I did 3 years 36 month to pay it off!!! It sucks getting your ride stolen to find out some hispanics drove around in your pride and joy and were listening to Reggae music while smoking the whacky tobacky

i actually cought 2 people breakin into my truck last year, i went out to my truck at about 7am on a saturday, and what do i see.... someone leaning into my extended cab window, i was like WHAT!!!, so i ran over to him and he had a hooded jacket on with the hood up and rubber gloves with a 2 foot screwdriver in his hand, thats how he broke in busted my ext cab window out, so i also notice a GIRL in the back of my truck like panicing that i caught them so i grab the guy and hold em and the girl jumps in their little geo tracker which they parked right next to my vehicle and she takes off but i hurry up and look at her tag # and while holding the guy down im hollaring for my girl to come out so she can call the cops cause i couldnt do much whiule holding the boy down, (he was like 18), so finnally she comes out we call the cops and their actually their in like 2 mins they track the tag # and get the girl it was great!! the whole time im holding the boy down hes screamin and cussing , im like shut the F%&^* up!!, so long story short before i got out their they already had my sub box and amp and my radar detector in the tracker, which i didnt realize or i would of chased the truck down!, but when they got to the girls house she already had ditched the stuff so i never got it back , they were ordered by court to pay me back but i havent seen a penny of it, and i called there probation officer and shes like well there not working right now, i said well make them!! so its been a year havent got my stuff back and havent seen a penny!! but caught the thieves, so i guess what would be the point of catching them if the cops really dont do anything?

Well no one likes a thief like myself.I read the paper yesterday and a pickup got stolen and the hood fenders the box and what else got striped. what nerve these idiots have. the courts should give jail time like say 10 years for the first offence and the second should be 15 years uh. that should teach them from right from wrong i say.crime is crime and the courts should beef up on these things. it cost billions each year from the pockets of people who work hard for what they have.sorry to here that you were a victim of such @#$@

87wreckerman,

That young man was lucky you got ahold of him and not me. There would have been a lot worse things than holding him down going on. Doctors would have been trying to figure out how to get a 2 foot screw driver out of his intestines.

First thing I would have told the wife is, "Let the dog out!" Second thing would have been, "Grab my pistol!"

I applaud your self control in not killing the little turd.

87wreckerman, believe me, the cops are just as frustrated as you are with things like that. I am glad you caught the sorry little **** and that you weren't hurt while doing it. As an ex-cop I assure you that cops can't stand thieves and can't stand a court system that gives them a slap on the wrist even more. My truck was broken into the other night, I also have a thread, and it was the least favorite of my birthday presents that day. I'm with you BFR20SD, if I had caught the (insert expletive here) who broke into my truck an ambulance would have been needed as they probably would have fallen down...accidentaly...several times...
