If you are going to drill out the pin, you need to remove the lower plastic cover on the steering column. It's held be a few (2 or 3) screws. Then, look for the pin from below. If you have the new lock cylinder, you can sort of guess where that pin should be. It's kind of hard to describe. I have a picture, but not with me right now. Post your email address (yes, it's allowed now) and I'll send it to you later tonight.
I found the hole for the cylinder pin. Lol, like you said, I guessed where the pin was from the new lock cylinder.
I ended up drilling it out, which was a hassle, and I don't reccommend anyone losing their keys. Ever.
