My father in law uses Outlook Express to get his ISP email, and the ISP does not provide a spamblocker. I know Thunderbird has spamblocking...how well does it work for you who use it?
If anyone wants to chime in with their favorite non-ISP provided spamblocker, freeware or not, I'd appreciate hearing from you.
I have been using Mozilla Thunderbird for over a year now and I strongly recommend it.
Besides being very good detecting junk mail, one of the better features incorporated into Thunderbird is what they call 'Selective Download'. This feature allows you to preview your POP3 (payed for email) mailbox 'Subject' lines before downloading the actual email to you computer.
I have McAfee virus scan and spam blocker. It used to work fine, not even download spam from the server, but lately it isn't worth much. Even though I upgrade it when notified I get about 10 spams a day.. I don't recommend it anymore. ........... IMO....
