I think silver appeals to all...well, almost all. It is not too bright and not too dull. It is non-offensive. It can look very rich, yet still appeal to us mere common folk. It fits most age groups.
Black screams "sinister."
Black, with any other color: "I like to think of myself as sinister"
Red: "hey, look over here!"
Yellow: "I am an attention *****." ( < censored me...rhymes with store)
Dark blue: "I'm dark, but not in a sinister way like black."
Green: "I am just different enough, but not unique."
Orange: "No, really. I like it when people look at me like I'm insane."
Brown: "I am just looking for transportation, and this was on the lot."
Gold: "man, I really liked the looks of this color when it was on the back of the brochure."
White: "I am the chameleon. I can blend or I can stick out."
Medium blue: "I like to be noticed, but not like yellow or red."
Dark red: "I was not ready to commit to bright red."
Then there is Road color, or urban camouflage. These are the shades that look almost identical to the pavement. Kinda Beige metallics. These could be saying two things. The owner hates washing the car. Or, the owner may be wanted in one or more jurisdictions and is seeking to blend in as much as possible
Has anyone else noticed this: when car manufacturers show their car (or cars) in a TV commercial, why are they almost always SILVER? Mercedes, Saab, Hyundai, Chrysler, Audi, even Kia. Is it because this is the least-offensive color? You may not like red, or black, or yellow, but who despises silver?
Have you noticed that Cadillac's used Black for their most recent ads? They usually stick with the Silver formula (standard luxury car color since dirt was a couple days old), but probably figured to do something different.
Silver's the standard luxury car colour? I notice a lot more black ones.
Everybody notice almost ALL of the Escalades out there are that pearl colour? Not enough Navigators around here to notice but it seems they tend to be black.
My personal favorite is a REAL Hummer (as in original) in jungle or desert flat camo.
In the Mercedes and BMW biz, Silver (or some variant) has been the most popular color for decades, followed by Black and White. In Corvettes, Black, Red, and Silver are the big colors, although Lemans Blue (Dark Blue Pearl) is gaining quite a following.
Is that true Mil1ion or are you just saying that? No offense just wondering, I copied all the definitions into a Word document for future reference lol.
My insurance company said the colour didn't affect insurance rates? Anyone heard the same/different?
