Whooboy! Sounds like a lot of misplaced aggression here. She is, after all, the parent of a minor child. Maybe a little compromise is in order.

so that makes it ok for the Parent to take the childs money?

I thought the parent was responsible for the minor (ie the parent supports the minor) not the other way around

Let me get this straight- your brother was injured in an accident that didn't involve your mother at all, and she wants to take money from him for doing things for someone else? Sheesh... Seems like she should be talking to your gramps and your uncle, huh? AND a mother that didn't take care of an injured child? Holy Moly.I can see where you might have a problem with this. Have you expressed your concern to her? If so, and she's still of a mind to follow this path, I'd do everything I could to keep her from getting her money-grubbing hands on a single penny. JMO-P.
