i have a ranger... it is extremly modified... it hasa 8.8 rearend witha ranger bolt pattern... i bought some ranger wheel... one didnt fit so i afro engineered it witha grinder.. just grond the inside lip alittle on the "center hole". well now its stuck on... i tired to use me and a buddy and tried a puller... anyone ahve any ideas.... thanks
the stuck rim... if you look at the bottom edge you can see a rolled edge of aluminum... thats nooo good....
anyhelp appreciated!!!
Jack it up put it on jack stands take your trusty 8 lb sledge and
hit the tire on the inside turn it a bit and hit it again repeat until it pops. If that doesn't workleave the lugs loose take it around the block and be a little rough on the
turns. In both cases lubricate the center hole with spray lube your choice. I've done the sledge job on some pretty big wheels.

Try uses a cutting torch to heat rim around hub quickly to swell it up and then pull rim off. Keep hub cool with ice if need be.
thats just plain stupid!!! cutting tourches and aluminium rims = big explosion when aluminum rim melts.
No it is not. It will not cut it unless you get it too hot. Use a carbonized flame (extra acetalyne) and heat rim quickly as alumiun will swell a lot quicker than stell will and it will come right of. A propane torch will not heat it quick enough to do it without heating the hub too. Shoot for about 500 to 600 degrees or so( oil smokes quickly when spattered on it, it will light off at about 900 degrees) I guess you do not know your way around this stuff.

he was not talking about the rim blowing up , but the heat super expanding the air in the tire and blowing the tire off the rim , I personally saw a man blow his head off with this method of rim removal , NOT PRETTY OR FUN, BOB
pull the valve in the stem. you can use heat. It's only aluminum, it will come off with a mallet. Put a couple nuts on the studs a little ways so when the rim pops loose it doesn't fly of and hit something else. I've never seen a rim not come off with a hammer, and I live in salty Minnesota where everything rusts and corrodes.
I would like to respectfully disagree ,one more time, the valve core hole will not allow air to release at the rate that it will expand , even in an empty tire. you really have to trust me on this one, bob
