Angry Am I Infected?

OK, I guess the subject title speaks for iteself.

The past few day when I log on & run my email client I get a returned email saying undeliverable virus detected.
But the funny thing is, the address I apparently emailed is not in my email address & I can't ever remember emailing that person.

So I think I'm infected. I run a virus scan. Turns up no results. So I go out and buy a new Macafee, run it turns up no results.
Right now I'm using Panda Titanium Antivirus that has been updated today & it still is not finding a virus.
I'm getting rather confused, I have ran Macafee, Norton, Panda, & various online scans to find this virus & they all say nothing is infecting my computer.
I have 17 different email addresses running into my email client. It is only my personal address that is getting these emails about viruses.
Could it possibly be that someone has hacked my personal email info & is trying to send viruses out from a remote computer?
Hopefully someout out there with more computer knoledge can shed some light on this mystery for me.
Nobody I send email to on a personal or business relationship has mentioned anything to me about me carrying a virus either.

Exact copy of one of the emails read.....

Go to symantec.com and run Norton for free.

On edit:

Have you or anyone else opened any email attachments from strangers lately? Do you have OE set to preview your email?

I'm not sure if anyone has opened any attachments. I do have my virus scan set up to scan all incoming mail.

I do not use outlook express & do not have it installed on my computer.

Did the house call yesterday along with a few other online scans. Nothing showed up.
I have also scaned with macafee, Norton, & Panda. Nothing showed up with them either. Although, the most updated version was Panda.
I'm currently downloading the newest version of Norton. There some great reading over there on their site.
I'm wondering if I have that new worm that is out. the sings are there. Macafee says it only affects Outlook, I don't have outlook so I didn't worry about it. Norton says that worm will affect any email client if it can not find outlook.
Will a virus scan pick up a worm?
If not, then maybe that is why all my other scans are'nt picking it up.
Well, back to my download. Once it is done, I'll scan again with Norton and see what my results are.

some of those undeliverable e-mails contain the actual Virus.

They expect a person to open them up to see where you apparently sent an e-mail, once you open Bam !

yer not alone. seen a couple of them pop up. supposedly none of us opened any attachements. Does it take opening the email or opening the attachment to get that worm to start doing its thing? I'm also running Norton System Works and it runs in the background and has not found anything yet. But I do need to update my antivirus. Don't know if there is any updates available now that will protect against the latest worms? I definately will not get online tomorrow. That's when the big wave of worms is supposed to attack. I'll wait until Wednesday to see how much carnage, if any, these retards will have inflicted on the internet and networks. Stupid hackers, that make this garbage. Why can't they wow us with their amazing skills by doing good for mankind, instead of causing trouble and headaches for others?

Go to MicroSofts web site.

http://www.microsoft.com/security/antivirus/mydoom.asp

Page down to find the instructions on searching for 2 files on your system.......

Good Luck, I came up clean!

I've seen a lot of that type of e-mail in the past 6 months or so. They usually contain a virus or worm and are trying to dupe you into opening it to infect your computer. My virus program has caught them all so far.

According to that test using MSDOS I'm all clean.

Unfortunatly I'm a paranoid b@#%^rd now.
I still feel something is wrong. I'll continue checking my other recourses. If I don't find something soon I'll calm down a little & live life like it is meant to be.
Annoying the rest of you!!

Although it may not be the route of this particular problem, but do you run any spyware/adware protection software? I run Ad-Aware, Spybot, and Spyware Blaster. If you want some links for them, I can get that right to you.

I downloaded spykiller yesterday.

It found alot of spyware on there. I went to have them cleaned up & it asked for some money. With it being the first of the month & all the other bills due I choose not to pay right now, Maybe by the end of the week I will be able to.

I got those same type of emails, they are typical of the MyDoom thing mentioned in a link above. I deleted them and ran several virusscans, still clean. I think you have to open the email to get it.
It will also send you faked emails from your friends etc, using typical subject lines.
I just keep updating McAfee and running it and deleting any odd emails.

Edit: Ad-Aware 6 is free, I love it.
