i have a 1993ford ranger, it has been highly modified for desert prerunning! i recently had to change some dirty injectors... i didnt change the gaskets or apply anything when i put everything together... i didnt have a torque wrench either and was in a hurry for a trip... so i did my best! it ran good until then end of the trip... it just started coughin and dieing and rough idle... i went to glamis sand dunes soo i was guessing the heat made everything get a warped or whatever... so when i got home i loosened and tried to retorque everything... in the end i broke a few studs and still runs like crap... oh yea also tried some gasket sealer... so i am wondering if anyone has anyideas whats wrong withthe motor.... is it a leak in the upper manifold/plenum or is it something else, like some sensors... or??? also were can i get some new studs that go thew the fuel rail and bolt the plenum to the lower manifold???
i think LMC Truck makes parts for the 93. LIke direct OEM replacments. just go to there sight and they will send you a free book with all the things you could need
I'd start by pulling the codes, and then check for vacuum leaks. But it might be some dirt got into the injectors with your quicky injector change, or maybe you got a couple of bad injectors. Did you check the electrical connectors to all the injectors? One or more of them may have come loose. Check to make sure all the injectors are firing.
