temp range for 10w30

i am planning on switching to 10w30 rotella instead of 15w40 for easier starting. but i just want to make sure the temp range recommended is going to be where i am at all winter. and since the previous owner lost the owner manual and diesel suppliment and mitchell on demand only says 15w40 i figured you guys could help me out.

thanks
tim

Just be sure that you change to a diesel rated oil. I've never seen a 10-30 that was for diesels.

The temp would be 20 Deg and up for 15W-40(Preferred). 10W-30 20 Deg to -10 BELOW O(Preferred) Also has from 50 Deg to -20 below %W-30 can be used. Those are in Deg F and found in the 7.3LDIT Owners Supplement Guide
Hope that helps Tjbeggs
