Coolant Consumption

I'm looking for some thoughts and advice on my 104k mile powerstroke that does a lot of towing. I let a friend borrow it and when I got it back the coolant reservoir had a big split in the seam. I thought it had just rotted out so I replaced it. That seemed to fix the problem and the tank is holding up but I now notice a little coolant consumption. I just towed about 1200 miles and the coolant dropped about an inch over the whole trip. Do I have a bad headgasket? Does Bars Leak work in a Diesel? Any recommendations?

Not sure if it's a problem, but mine does the same thing. If I fill it to the line, the next day it will be about an inch low. But never gets any lower. And i've never had any cooling or leaking problems.

Mine does the exact same thing. I added coolant once, it dropped again and has never gotten any lower.
