Just wondering when Ford started putting pollution crap on their trucks, my 78 had the full gambit, converters, EGR, air pump, the works. All that is gone now and I'm starting to get nervous that some beaurocrat might make me spend big $ putting all that junk back on...
I was just reading a bunch of legislative stuff on SEMA's website. It looks to me like the govt is headed toward federal voluntary crusher laws for vehicles older than 15 years that I assume won't pass emissions tests. At the same time, any vehicle that is 25 years or older is being excused from emissions testing in some places. There are so few of these 25+ year olds left that they don't consider them worth the bother and it would cost a fortune to get them to pass current emissions laws. Texas (and some other states) are apparently passing some sort of assistance for people whose older vehicles(between 15 and 25 years old I assume) won't pass muster but they don't want to give them up to the grinders quite yet. Unfortunately, the laws seem to vary greatly from one state to the next. Some states are passing pro-old vehicle enthusiast laws where others are trying to go on to private property and just haul your stuff away.
