I have a 1995 F-150 5.0 e40d 2x4 and I was woundering if I could put a 1345 BW transfercase that was out of a 1989 F-150 with a M50d on to my e40d tranny and if not wat do i have to do. And Also would a transfer case from an 87 c6 bolt on. Thanks
No transfer case is a "bolt on" to a 2x4 transmission unless it is a divorced/free standing transfer case. You will need to get a 4wd tail shaft that's made for the E4OD to convert it to the 4x4 style, then most ford pattern transfer case's will bolt up.
Theres two types of transfer case setups - one that is directly attached to the transmission (what most are) and ones that are not attached to the transmission. A divorsed transfer case is not directly mounted to the transmission, its separated.
