C6 transfer case on a E40d

C6 transfer case on a E40d
I have a 1993 f250 thats 2WD and have been thinking about making it a 4WD, the truck has a E40D in it but i can get a transfercase off of a C6 for alot cheaper then i could for a E40D, what im wondering is would they be compatible? thanks

2wd and 4wd trans are different. The 2wd has a longer housing and tail shaft that the driveshaft hooks to. A 4wd is shorter and has an adapter to bolt to a t-case. You are better off finding a 4wd trans, because to convert it the whole trans has to come apart.
But to answer the question, a t-case from a 4wd c-6 will fit a 4wd E4OD. Any t-case should bolt to any 4wd trans manual or auto
